There is an opportunity for this position to be on either a full time or reduced hours basis.

Western Metropolitan Regional Council (WMRC) is a progressive Waste Management facility situated in the western suburbs, established under the membership of the Towns of Claremont, Cottesloe, Mosman Park, Shire of Peppermint Grove and the City of Subiaco.

The Council is seeking an experienced project driven Chief Executive Officer for a period of up to 24 months to oversee the operational management of the Jim McGeough Resource Recovery Facility in Shenton Park.  This facility includes the first DICOM Plant in Australia and whilst located on Council land is not owned nor operated by Council. The Transfer Station and waste environmental services are also at the same location.   In addition to these services the Council is heavily involved in the delivery of education programs for the reduction of waste matter and a greenwaste recycling program directly applicable to the member Councils as well as the general public.

The successful applicant will have a track record focusing on the oversight of major projects, the ability to comply with and implement specific local government regulatory and licensing obligations and will demonstrate an ability to influence outcomes and to negotiate solutions with member councils and contractors.
